Pirkl, James J. (James Joseph), 1930-

Papers of the American industrial designer, pioneer in transgenerational design and disability issues. Retired in 1992 as Chair of the Dept. of Design, Syracuse University, where he had taught since 1965. Collection includes correspondence, blueprints, drawings, and client files.

Papers of the American theologian, Unitarian Universalist, Professor of Religion. Predominately correspondence, the remainder of the collection consists of financial records, photographs, printed material, and writings including examinations, notes, and a typescript of the translation of Ernst Troeltsch's Historism and Its Problems, First Book: The Logical Problem of the Philosophy of History (Tübingen, Germany, 1925).

Pike, James, 1777-1842.

Papers of the American educator, author. James Pike was a New England school teacher and compiler of textbooks. He wrote The Columbian Orthographer (1806) and The Little Reader (1814). Collection includes correspondence (1805-09); diaries (1793-1811); legal papers (1809-1849); school and teaching records (1798-1807); and an undated draft of a constitution for a 'School for Young Ladies.'

Papers of the American theologian, author, Dean and President of the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California. Collection includes correspondence, writings (articles, books, essays, reviews, speeches), memorabilia, and a draft of Paul Tillich's Systematic Theology with annotations by Dillenberger.

Taped interviews with eleven leaders in the field of adult education, undertaken as part of Jacques's dissertation research. Interviews with Mary Armstrong, R.J. Blakely, Leland P. Bradford, Mary L. Collings, Paul L. Essert, Wilbur C. Hallenbeck, Samuel E. Hand, Andrew Hendrickson, Eugene I. Johnson, Howard Y. McClusky, and Ralph B. Spence. Also includes copy of Jacques' doctoral dissertation based on the interviews.
